STAA Truck Access Through Richardson Grove
Speaker: Cal Trans Project Manager, Kim Floyd
Friday, January 25 / Noon - 2pm / Avalon Restaurant in Eureka
Caltrans has designed a re-alignment of Hwy 101 through Richardson Grove that can be completed with minor construction and without cutting old growth redwood trees. Confusion Hill and the passage through this treasured Redwood grove have been the choke points cutting off access for Humboldt, Del Norte and Trinity counties to the national highway system. This restriction has increased costs for nearly every local industry.
Kim Floyd, Caltrans project manager, will present the specific plan for re-alignment and how it can eliminate the restriction by the end of 2008. She'll be available to answer your questions.
Jacqueline Debets, Economic Development Coordinator, will present survey data from local business owners who have quantified the cost of offloading and reloading cargo into smaller trucks to move through our region and will lead a discussion among the audience and business leaders affected by truck restrictions.
Join us for a delicious lunch, and an informative discussion with businesses owners who share an appreciation for rural life in Humboldt, Del Norte and Trinity Counties.- Where: Avalon Restaurant
