SEEKING HOST for HUMBOLDT MADE

Fri, 03/01/2013 - 6:07pm -- Jacqueline Debets

With over 6,000 friends that Love Humboldt, the Humboldt Made brand has become a beautiful thing. Check out www.HumboldtMade.com and https://www.facebook.com/lovehumboldtmade.

The County of Humboldt Economic Development Division has incubated this umbrella marketing brand and program of business services called “Humboldt Made”. It is founded on collaborative marketing, linking the people, products and place of Humboldt to effectively market Humboldt Made products, support business growth and job creation.

Letters of Interest Requested

Now, it's time for Humboldt Made to fledge from the County nest to a new host organization that can support it's growth potential. We are seeking letters of interest from organizations with a structure, mission and goals aligned with Humboldt Made by April 15, 2012. See the full Request for Letters of Support attached here. Call or email me before March 28th to discuss it and get a packet of development documents: jdebets@co.humboldt.ca.us.

Background

Humboldt Made began in 2008 with an idea from the Specialty Food, Flower & Beverage industry cluster, and was developed with guidance from business owners of some of Humboldt’s most successful brands (e.g. Lost Coast Brewery, Cypress Grove Chevre, etc). The purpose is to increase export sales of Humboldt Made products, and grow jobs and businesses located in Humboldt County. Today, the Humboldt Made brand primarily supports and includes members from the Specialty Food, Flower & Beverage and the Niche Manufacturing industry clusters. There are significant opportunities for collaborative marketing with Tourism and Forest Products.
